2011 Capital Projects
Each year, through the philanthropic support of the community, Morton Plant Mease Foundation grants the not-for-profit hospitals of Morton Plant Mease more than $3 million in support of capital projects to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment and renovate and/or build new facilities.
2011 CAPITAL PROJECTS:
Axelrod Pavilion on the Morton Plant Hospital campus
Focus on cancer with an expanded Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center, new Carlisle Imaging Center and the offices of Peter W. Blumencranz, MD, FACS, and Kathleen Allen, MD, FACS, from the Comprehensive Breast Care Center of Tampa Bay.
Mease Dunedin Hospital
Supports Mease Dunedin’s new critical care unit and the construction of a state-of-the-art surgery department. The hospital recently achieved re-certification as a MagnetTM Hospital and Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.
Morton Plant North Bay Hospital
Supports Morton Plant North Bay’s new four-story Starkey Medical Tower featuring all private rooms and updated ER. New Medical Arts Building features an expanded sleep disorders center, outpatient lab facility, outpatient rehabilitation services and enclosed, connected walkway to the main hospital.
