On Friday, September 28th, Morton Plant Mease Foundation’s annual Transamerica golf tournament will be held at the prestigious Belleair Country Club to benefit the Dr. George Morris Earn as You Learn nursing education program at the not-for-profit hospitals of Morton Plant Mease Health Care.
True to its mission to set the standard for high-quality, compassionate care, Morton Plant Mease proactively established the Dr. George Morris Earn as You Learn Program to attract and retain quality nurses as the nation progressively moves through a nursing shortage. This extraordinary program addresses the acute nursing shortage by providing a stipend for nursing students to relieve pressures created by the need to work full-time, go to school and provide for their families.
Over the past decade, overwhelming support from the community has contributed to the success of 143 registered nurses, 166 licensed practical nurses, 291 patient care technicians and six clinical nurse leaders.
